The goal of binder covers is to make our binders pretty, of course. But I hope that as the young women look at their binder covers week after week, that they really feel the truth of this scripture. That peace is available to them.

I admire our youth so much. Their lives are not easy. They have so much to juggle and balance. I remember being so scared as a teenager. Scared that I wouldn’t be successful, that I wasn’t good enough, and that I would fail at my goals. In fact, as a teen I hardly slept because I was so stressed with school, seminary, work, and life. Of course I realize that not all teens are overwhelmed insomniacs, but there are so many unknowns in their lives. Knowing that they can turn to the Lord for peace and guidance is HUGE.

That’s why I love this year’s theme of Doctrine & Covenants 19:23 so much. This scripture tells us how we get peace, and everyone can have it!

I hope that when they look at these covers and read the beautiful message, your girls feel that peace is possible. Great things are going to happen this year for our youth as they recognize the power of turning to the Lord for peace!
