I love this quote told by Sister Neill F. Marriott in the last general conference, “Some things matter; some things don’t. A few things last, but most things won’t.”
This makes a great visiting teaching printable because it’s such a good reminder that keeping a long term perspective is important.
I used this quote for the March visiting teaching printable to remind me to focus on what’s really important. And there is a lot of wisdom in this little saying from an unknown author. Most things don’t last. A bad haircut, a messy house, a bill that never seems to go away…those things end.
But so does childhood. Those moments when everyone is home and happy. Those end too. Children grow up and move away. People get sick and grow old. And life passes all too quickly.
How fortunate we are to know that the few things that are truly important things don’t have to go away! Our families can be together forever. Our relationships stay. Our friendships and our memories last.
The most important things last!
So this printable is meant to remind us to make time for the important things and stress less about the things that aren’t eternally essential.
