“Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam.” It’s the classic primary and nursery singing time song. And today I am excited to share with you these free singing time printable helps so that your primary or nursery can have tons of fun with this song, without all the fuss and work.
I believe that printables should be pretty, meaningful, and easy! And these singing time printables are no exception.
I have been blessed to serve in nursery for the past 3 years. I LOVE it! Since my kiddos aren’t babies anymore, I just can’t get enough of the chubby little cheeks and cute personalities of the nursery kiddos. Plus, there’s snack time and since I often partake of the said snacks (ahem), I make sure that they’re awesome.
Of all the fun things we do in nursery (snacks, coloring, lesson, playtime, etc.), it’s singing time that’s the fan favorite! The kiddos love to sing and dance around. And “Jesus Want Me For a Sunbeam,” is at the top of the favorites list.
But here’s the thing. I don’t want to cut out paper plates to look like suns, and then paint them yellow. Aint’ noboby got time for that!
So these singing time printables are easy and there are 3 (yes, 3!!) versions that you can download. You can pick to print the version that best suits YOU and your primary.
How to use these Sunbeam Song Printables
You can just print out these suns and find the version that works best for your primary needs. If you want your darling kiddos to put their face through the sun, you can print and cut, and tape the sun halves together (just trim as needed). OR just print out the sun printable and cut the hole through the middle and call it good.
If you want these to really last a long time, I recommend printing them on cardstock and laminating them. Then they will withstand teething, scrunching, and throwing. Nothing gets out of nursery without a little bit of slobber, so laminating these printables protects them and makes them easy to clean.
But, if you want the simplest version, just use a 3-inch circle hole punch (one of my all-time favorite craft supplies), and just punch out these sun circles and tape them on a stick. Any stick will do, but since I have tons of craft sticks, that’s my favorite choice.
This is also a great option if your primary doesn’t like the kids jumping during this song. Instead of jumping, the kids can just hold these “sun” sticks, or wave them in the air. It keeps nursery or primary a bit more reverent, but still keeps the song fun.
I hope that you can use these “Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam” song helps in your primary! And if you like them, please share them on your favorite social media platform. Thanks so much!
