You’ve been waiting for these. Primary program bulletin covers are fun and a great way to showcase this year’s theme of “I Am A Child of God.” I think these sacrament program/bulletin covers are a great way to get people even more excited for the primary program.

Here’s another primary program bulletin cover idea…

As cute as these primary program covers are (and I think they’re pretty cute!), I’ve actually seen a cuter idea. 

Now this cute idea isn’t something that you can download and print, and it takes a tiny bit of extra work. But it’s been my favorite primary program cover of all time. 

Here’s the idea: (Full disclosure: this is not my idea. Our ward is Omaha, NE, has been doing this for years and I give the great people of Omaha all the credit, especially Bro. Smith did this for our primary while our family lived there.)

The brother who was in charge of the weekly bulletin covers came into our primary the week before the primary program.

He gave each child a half a sheet of plain paper (8.5×5.5) and a pencil or a pen. (Crayons and markers don’t work as well.) He asked all the kids to draw a picture of something that they learned that year in primary. (So for the theme, “Scripture Power,” they drew scripture stories. For “I am a Child of God,” they could draw a picture of themselves with their friends and family. Or they could draw a picture of what makes them unique and special, etc.) He also asked the kids to write their names and age on the back of their picture.

Then the brother in charge of the weekly bulletin collected these pictures, typed the kid’s name and age on the page, and then printed them off.

These handmade drawings from the primary children became the bulletin covers for the primary program.

I can’t tell you how fun it was to get a program cover with these cute drawings from kids that we knew and loved. Needless to say, they were a hit.

But it does take some work and planning.

So if you just can’t handle one more thing on your plate right now, or if you’re just outta time…please use these free primary program covers. Then pat yourself on the back, take a deep breath, and eat some chocolate. #You’reawesome.
