This quote was sent to me by a reader. She suggested that this quote would make a great printable, and I couldn’t agree more!

(By the way, when you send me suggestions for printables, I always write them down on my “to make” list. I love your suggestions!)

Elder Holland is such an amazing leader and speaker. He gives us the best quotes. This particular quote came from a general conference talk that he gave in 1999, titled “An High Priest of Good Things to Come.”

“To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve.”

And of course, Elder Holland is absolutely right when he said, “Every one of us has times when we need to know things will get better.”

There have been so many days when I’ve turned on the news, and wondered how things could get worse. But apart from the struggles we see others facing on the news, you and I also have very real, and very personal struggles.

This past year my brother has been in heart failure. He’s 35 years old and needs a heart transplant. Every time I visit him in the ICU, it scares me. Every time my phone rings from him or his wife, I worry about what the news will be.

I felt the same worry and anxiety when I realized my parents were getting a divorce, when my mom moved in with us, and when my husband had to change jobs.

You have felt it too. Because none of us gets a free pass in life. We are here to be tested and to learn faith. But also to have joy.

It’s amazing how joy often comes with the pain. When my mom moved in with us, I had no idea how it would bless me and my kids to have her here with us. And things have improved, just as Elder Holland promised.

So if you are in the midst of the storm, I hope this printable featuring Elder Holland’s promise will bring you comfort and hope.

This free ministering printable matches two other printable kits available in the Teepee Girl shop.

My favorite part of these kits is the cell phone wallpaper. I recently heard that teens and adults open their phones 190 times a day. And whether or not that’s the exact number, the point is that we look at our phone lots and lots of times a day.

How cool if every time you open your phone, you see a scripture or an inspirational message!

I love seeing the “Nourish the Seed” quote on my phone. Every time I open my phone I’m reminded to read my scriptures. 🙂
