I still remember when a young American missionary taught this principle from the scriptures: “If God is for [you], who can be against [you]?” There was something about this that struck me with great power. “If that’s the case,” I thought, “then why should I fear?” So, I believed. And I trusted God.

When I read the scripture, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) in Elder Uchtdorf’s talk, it really resonated with me. And as soon as I made this printable, I taped it on my kitchen pantry door. It’s a reminder to for me to do the Lord’s will with boldness, without fear or hesitation

Because the truth is, I’m afraid a lot. And I get overwhelmed so, so easily.
Right now, as I’m sitting here typing this, I can see my to-do list on the coffee table. And honestly, it’s way too long. How can I get it all done? Well, the truth is I probably won’t get it all done.
So I have to pick and choose what’s most important. Then I let the rest go until tomorrow. And that’s easier said than done.
When you let fear, anxiety, overwhelm, and perfectionism rule the day, you can’t do the Lord’s work effectively.
And since we know that God is on our side, since we know that the Lord wants us to be successful, we can go forward with faith, hope, charity, and love.
Because God is for us. So who can be against us? You can do whatever hard thing the Lord has asked you to do. Because the Lord is on your side. He’s helping you.
