You know how there is one talk in general conference that just speaks to you? It just speaks to your mind and heart, and you can’t wait to read it again?
Yep, that was Sister Sharon Eubank’s talk for me.
I la-la-love this talk.
And this quote is my fave:
“Christ is willing to join with us in the yoke and pull in order to lighten our burdens. Christ is rest.”

Because the thing is, we’re all so tired.
I don’t know any woman who isn’t tired right now.
You have so much on your plate. Sometimes, it feels like the weight of the world in on your shoulders. You’re sure if one more thing was added to your to-do list, you’ll sit down and cry.
I know, because that’s how I feel too.
My favorite time of day is bedtime, and even then, I wake up tired. Just tired of trying to do all the things, and be there for everyone who needs me.
That’s why I chose this quote for this set of general conference printables. So that you and I can remember where to turn for rest.
And then there’s this sweet quote for Elder Renlund:
“Some blessings are reserved for later, even for the most valiant of God’s children.”

You know that amazing blessing that has eluded you or someone you love?
It’s coming.
This is a great comfort to me and my family. I have siblings and in-laws who aren’t married. I’ve struggled with infertility and miscarriages.
And you have righteous desires too. For you or someone you love, and these righteous desires always seem just out of reach.
This general conference quote brings a lot of comfort.
Annnndd…we’re back to that to-do list.
But seriously. Don’t you just wish you could do more and be more every day? I do.
Sometimes it feels like we’ll never be enough.
Good enough. Smart enough. Righteous enough. Kind enough. Self-reliant enough. Loving enough.
That’s why this quote is such an uplifting and inspiring reminder that we don’t have to do it all or be everything to everyone:
“All Heavenly Father asks of us is to do the very best we can each day.”

I gotta say, I was totally thinking of my tween daughter and all the young women as I made this quote.
Not that it’s only for youth, but I’m totally putting this on my daughter’s bathroom mirror. 🙂
Because it’s so, so easy to rationalize our mistakes or choices.
But we gotta own it.
We’ve got to own our choices and pick ourselves back up. Repent, and move on.
Sister Becky Craven said “We can rationalize all we want, but the fact is, there is not a right way to do the wrong thing!”

Do you remember when President Oaks gave his “Good, Better, Best” talk years ago?
I do. I was a super young mom and I was at a park with my friend Whitney, and we were talking about how hard it was to always choose the best thing to do, instead of all the good things.
Because let’s be real. There truly are endless good things to do each day: make meals, clean bathrooms, file taxes, watch period films on Netflix (my fave), take kids to lessons and activities, laundry, dishes, homework, yard work, actual job/work, paint (ahem)…you get the idea.
And I’m so busy doing all those good things, that at 10:00 pm at night, I often realize that I didn’t read my scriptures that day. Or I didn’t pray with my kids. Or I haven’t been to the temple in months.
#SadButTrue
So this general conference quote from President Oaks is perfect:
“We have to forego some good things in order to choose others that are better or best.
Take the long view.”
