Bingo is definitely a family favorite around here.
I love it because it’s fun, easy, and doesn’t require a lot of mental work on my part. I am sad to say that games that require a lot of mental strategy or exertion are not really my cup of tea right now. (I’m looking at you, chess!) I save all my mental strength for dinner and my 3rd-grader’s homework. Sigh. Such is life, right?
But the good news is that my kids love bingo too! I think that they mostly love that it comes with a snack because I always let them use food as markers. But it is also a game that they can play without a lot of rules and adult supervision. All three of my girls can sit down and play this together while I fold laundry, and that’s awesome!
Last week when I told my girls that I was going to make a Christmas bingo game, they got so excited. In fact, I even went so far as to tell them that I was going to make it “real quick,” and I honestly thought I would have it done that day.
Yeah…that didn’t happen. “Real quick” turned into four days, but I gotta say that I think it was worth the wait.
There are six different playing cards that come with this game, and there are two cards on a regular piece of paper or card stock (8.5×11).
All you have to do is print as many cards as you need. So for example, if you are making this for your child’s Christmas school party, and there are 24 kids in the class, then just make four copies of each card. I think it’s okay that more than one kid wins a game of bingo because it makes sure that more kids get a chance to win!
We love to use chocolate chips, marshmallows, raisins, and goldfish crackers for our markers. But if you are looking for something that is non-food, I think rocks or marbles, ribbon pieces, or little pieces of paper work great too.
The sky’s the limit when it comes to how to mark these cute squares!
If you want to use these bingo cards over and over, you might want to consider laminating them. This protects them and makes sure that you only have to print them one time. (I use a Scotch thermal and I love it. You can get it through my affiliate link HERE
I really hope you can use this bingo game for community, school, and church parties this year. Or better yet, use it in your own home with your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, and friends!
