Because we are studying President Gordon B. Hinckley’s teachings this year, I wanted to make a printable that could be used for lessons, handouts, visiting teaching, and home decor.
And once I got started creating, I couldn’t decide on a pink or purple color palette…so I did both!
President Hinckley was truly an optimist. I remember listening to his general conference talks and feeling so much hope and peace, despite the conditions of the world. And I still feel the same when I read his words.
“Be believing. Be happy. Don’t get discouraged. Things will work out.”
President Hinckley Quote Printable
I have always been impressed with President Hinckley’s optimism. He was also a realist and knew all the problems in the world, but he chose to focus on joy and gratitude.
The concept of choosing to see the good and focusing on the positive has been on my mind a lot lately. This morning I was reading in 1 Nephi chapter 17 where Nephi says, “so great were the blessings of the Lord upon us while we did live upon raw meat…” (1 Ne. 17:2)
That verse really struck me. I don’t think I would consider myself greatly blessed while eating raw meat! But Nephi was able to see that blessing and thank the Lord for it.
I want to be more like that.
I want to follow President Hinckley and Nephi’s examples of seeing the good and being an optimist.
I hope you can use these printables in your home or at church. Please leave a comment and let me know which one you like better! Or take a picture and tag me in Instagram.
Both of these printables come in sizes 8×10 and 4×6. I also included the 4×6 in pdf format.
