These sewing cards are perfect for sacrament meeting, primary, family home evening, or anytime!
These printables are free and they are so easy to put together. The colors are bright, the graphics are fun and church-related, and this little activity could be a lifesaver during church next Sunday!
One of the biggest struggles we have as moms and primary teachers is keeping the kids quiet and reverent at church, baptisms, or general conference. I mean, kids just weren’t meant to sit still for very long. Just tonight while we were reading our scriptures, my 5-year-old could not sit still. As a parent, it’s exhausting to watch but can be a bit exasperating in a public setting like church.
One strategy that has worked well for our family has been filling the church bags with magnets, coloring books, and sewing cards.
I recently made some summer sewing cards and as my kids have played with them at church every Sunday since I made them. So I thought it was time to make some LDS specific sewing cards. I love it when the kids have something to do at church that reminds them of church teachings. It’s a win-win!
There are four sewing cards and they are so easy to make! I laminated mine so they are sturdier and last longer. If you don’t have a laminator, just print on the thickest paper you have.
So here’s what you do: (the following links are affiliate links. This means that if you purchase something from this link, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. As always, feel free to shop around for the best price. Thank you for your support!)
- Download the sewing cards linked below and print them out on card stock or heavy paper.
- Cut out the shapes, and if desired, laminate them. I use an older version of this laminator and I love it!
- Next, you need to punch holes around the card. I think a standard hole punch works great here. It makes the holes big enough for the kids to easily put the string through. Holes closer together will be more challenging and holes farther apart will be easier.
- Find your string of choice. I like shoelaces (38″ or 45″ lengths works great), yarn, and twine. If using yarn or twine, it’s a good idea to put some tape on one end (this prevents fraying and makes it easier for the kids to put through the holes) and tie a double knot on the opposite end so the string won’t come out.
Kids love these fun and colorful graphics. Plus, these familiar LDS graphics make these the perfect quiet activity for all things church-related!
I hope you get a chance to make these LDS sewing cards for all the little people in your life. These little sewing cards have been fun for my kids at church and I hope your kids love them as well!
Don’t forget to pin them or share them on social media so you can find them for later! ♥
