Happy October!
This month’s visiting teaching message is about loving those who have who have strayed from the gospel path.
There are so many great quotes in this month’s message but I picked the one that really stood out to me. This visiting teaching printable handout features a truly hopeful quote from President Eyring:
“God has devised means to save each of His children.”
I think it’s safe to say that most of us know and love people who are not active in the church.
Maybe you know what it’s like to watch a loved one make really poor choices, and you know that if they would turn to the Savior, their life would be easier and they would find peace. But maybe the hardest part is realizing that the only things you can do to help them are to love them and pray for them.
It can be tough, right? (Because what you really want to do is boss them around and make them say their prayers and go to church. But that doesn’t work. Yes, I may be speaking from some personal experience here. ☺)
That’s why I love the opening paragraph of this month’s message so much:
“The reality is that there are no perfect families … ,” said President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency. “Whatever problems your family is facing, whatever you must do to solve them, the beginning and the end of the solution is charity, the pure love of Christ.”
But I also love this quote by President Eyring because not only does it give me hope for my loved ones who are struggling with their faith, but it also gives me hope for ME!
Because the truth is, I need saving too. Sure, I go to church and I try to live the gospel. But I know that I am far from where I need to be. I mean, I could make a list a mile long of things I could and should be doing better. Yet, there is still hope for me. God is working on saving me just as he is working on saving my family and friends.
You. Me. Your son. Your daughter. Your best friend. Your husband. Your neighbor. Your nephew. God can save us all.
I hope you can use this month’s visiting teaching printable handout. It’s great for visiting teaching (of course!), but it’s also great for handouts, gifts for friends, and fall home decor!
And I would love it if you shared this post on social media! Thank you so much. ♥
