Inside: Use this free printable featuring President Nelson’s “5 Truths,” given at a BYU devotional address in September 2019. This free printable is perfect for lesson handouts or decor for a teen or young adult.
I was at the gym the Monday after President Nelson announced that church would only be 2 hours. A friend, who is not of our faith, greeted me by saying “Congrats on 2 hour church!”
It was such big news here in Utah. (It’s one of the weird things about living in Utah, everyone knows what’s going on in the church. This would have never happened in Nebraska.)
But my friend knew I would love a shortened block of church. So I just grinned and responded that it was just one more reason we love President Nelson. 🙂
But really, we love President Nelson for so, so many reasons.
First and foremost, he is so sincere in his love for the gospel and his love for others.
Last week, President Nelson spoke at a BYU devotional. I was so touched when he said,
"Whenever the sons and daughters of God weep—for whatever reasons—we weep."
His sincerity was undeniable. I felt the truth in what he said.
And after listening to President Nelson’s full BYU devotional address, I thought it would be fun to have a printable to remind us of the 5 truths he shared.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen or read President Nelson’s talk, I highly recommend it.
1. You are sons and daughters of God.
2. Truth is truth.
3. God loves every one of us with perfect love.
4. The Lord Jesus Christ, whose Church this is, appoints prophets and Apostles to communicate His love and teach His laws.
5. You may know for yourself what is true and what is not by learning to discern the whisperings of the Spirit.
I’m not a young adult anymore (sad!) but this talk was good for me to hear.
No matter our age, the words of a prophet are always applicable and pertinent.
And there’s two versions because I couldn’t decide on a style.
I like the distressed watercolor look, but my husband prefers the more clean lines and retro look. So I included both for you.
I hope you can find some really fun ways to use and share these free printables.
They are great for bookmarks in manual and scriptures.
They’re perfect for lesson handouts.
And of course you could put them on your fridge or share them on social media.
And even though President Nelson gave us two hour church, I think we remember him most for the loving way he teaches doctrine.
And I hope that you can use these printables as you share and teach God’s love to your kids, grandkids, and the people you serve and minister to daily.
It’s an honor to create printables for you.
