How to #Light The World “One By One”

This can have a powerful impact. I know from personal experience.

This past summer, our daughter was in a coma. The thought of losing her was so painful that I literally ached.

One day, a parade of doctors had come in and out of the hospital room to tell me that they still didn’t know why she was sick. We’d been in the hospital for days, and we didn’t know what was going on or what the outcome would be.

And I looked at my phone and saw that I had a text from a dear friend. She had been reading her scriptures and came across a verse of scripture and thought of me.

She texted the scripture to me. That scripture verse brought me so much comfort.

My friend was an angel to me in that moment. I read her text, and bawled like a baby.

It took her 2 minutes to send that text. I read it over and over. It was a small but powerful thing that helped me get through that day, and the next.

Currently, my daughter is doing really well. 🙂 We are incredibly, and undeniably, blessed. Our cup runneth over, for sure.

But as I read this #Light The World prompt for sharing a scripture, I remembered how powerful this can be.

So I wanted to help make it super easy and fun for your to share a scripture with someone who needs a boost today.

This past summer, I was afraid. I tried not to be, but fear creeped into heart when they took Sami in for an MRI to see if she had a brain tumor. It was there when they said every single test came back negative and they were just guessing on what could be wrong. When the mortuary pulled into the hospital and drove around back, I was afraid and so, so devastated for the family that need a mortuary.

But as many times as I was afraid, there were so many more times when I absolutely knew that God was with me, and every person in that hospital.

During the holiday season, we often see the word “believe” on wood signs, home decor, and apparel. And it’s usually associated with belief in Santa. (And just to be clear, I love Santa.)

But what if we associated the word “believe” with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ?

Wouldn’t that be cool? Wouldn’t it be amazing if our kids said “I believe” and they meant they believed in Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation?

I get goose bumps just thinking about it.
