I have always loved chocolate mousse. Whenever we go to a restaurant or cafe that serves mousse, it is always my dessert of choice. I love how creamy, rich, and totally decadent it is.
So a few months ago when my neighbor gave me a mug of her homemade chocolate mousse, no one was surprised when I ate the whole thing. I may have left their house will a small tummy ached but it was so worth it! She later served that same chocolate mousse at a church event and everyone was raving about it, including me!
I asked her for the recipe to share with you and I am so excited that she said yes! (But I am not surprised because my neighbor, Shawnna, is very generous. )
The strawberry mousse came from a few experiments in my kitchen. I wanted a nice pink mousse that could be served for Valentine’s Day, bridal showers, or parties. I mean, let’s not forget that I have three girls. Pink is always on my mind.
After a few not-so-great strawberry mousses, I knew I had a winner when I gave some to my neighbor, Shawnna, the creator of the chocolate mousse, and she loved it and asked for more!
I love serving mousse in little plastic shot glasses with mini plastic spoons. (<–those are affiliate links, you can read what that means here.)
The cute and mini-sized cups and spoons make it even more fun to eat. And since this chocolate mousse is so blissful and rich, a small serving is just perfect. Even for raging chocoholics like me.
I wouldn’t be exaggerating when I say that if I had to chose one dessert to eat for the rest of my life, this chocolate mousse would be it!
But the strawberry mousse is truly delightful.
Unlike the luscious chocolate mousse, the strawberry mousse is almost light and velvety. And oh, so pretty!
It’s amazing that something so quick and easy to make can be so amazing. And if you are dessert lover like me, it can be life-changing!
I hope you get a chance to make one of these mousses really soon! And if you do, let me know what you thought. I love to hear from you. ♥
