I have vivid memories of the first time I was introduced to the works of Jane Austen.
I was a freshmen in college, and I was really homesick. My sweet Aunt Leah and Uncle Mike invited me to spend a long weekend with them in a neighboring state. They picked me up, drove me the four hours to their lovely apartment, and spoiled me with microwave caramel popcorn and the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice.
That night I fell in love. I fell in love with the movie, with Mr. Darcy, and the whole storyline. It was so romantic and witty. It was everything that a romance should be. And let’s be serious, Colin Firth had that whole brooding hero thing down pat.
It was the start of my love affair with all things Regency. And I still love reading books and watching movies from that time period. I still sigh when I hear Mr. Darcy propose to Elizabeth Bennett and he tells her how “ardently” he loves her. (My husband reminds me that the reason women write romance for women is because men don’t talk like that, lol. Thankfully I have three daughters, and I am sure that one day they will watch all my romantic movies and sigh with me.)
Needless to say, this project of making printables featuring romantic quotes from Jane Austen has made my heart happy. I hope it makes your heart happy too.
As I was making these, I was thinking how great they are for Valentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day parties, but also for bridal showers. I think it would be so fun to throw a bridal shower with these printables placed in ornate frames (<–affiliate link) on lace-covered tables and roses scattered throughout!
Just so you know, each printable is sized 8×10. You can download each of them separately or there is a link at the bottom of this post to download all six of these printables in a zip file.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them! ♥

“There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart,’ said she afterwards to herself. ‘There is nothing to be compared to it. Warmth and tenderness of heart, with an affectionate, open manner, will beat all the clearness of head in the world, for attraction: I am sure it will.”
